Uruguay set to become the first country to sell legal marijuana over the counter














After becoming the first country in the world to completely legalize marijuana, Uruguay is now ready to become the first country to sell pot in drug stores.

Uruguay’s head of the National Drug Board Juan Roballo announced on Thursday that pharmacies will soon be authorized to sell cannabis, reports Reuters.
“Cannabis will be dispensed in pharmacies starting in the month of July,” Roballo told a press conference.
The country’s government will regulate the process, which will initially provide pharmacies with 882 pounds, although that amount could increase depending on demand.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants to lift NFL’s marijuana ban



One of the NFL’s most influential team owners believes it’s time to repeal the league’s harsh policy towards marijuana.

In an owners-only meeting in Arizona last week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones brought up his concern for the league to “drop its prohibition on marijuana use,” reports Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

U.S. congressmen headed to Europe to discuss legal pot industry

The pressure to legalize marijuana worldwide has become so much so that U.S. lawmakers are taking a pot-filled field trip to Europe.
A bipartisan Congressional Delegation that includes New York Congressman Brian Higgins and California Congressman Dana Rohrabacher have scheduled a trip to Europe next week to study their various legal cannabis policies and regulatory systems, reports Marijuana Politics.
The delegation’s multi-country tour will be highlighted by a stop in Germany, where medical marijuana was legalized earlier this year.

Coachella will have a VIP “marijuana oasis” party














The upcoming Coachella Music and Arts Festival won’t be the only party filled with weed smoke in the desert next month.

Pot dispensary search engine Weedmaps is planning to hold a massive, fully legal “marijuana oasis” for VIP guest six miles outside of the Coachella festival grounds, reports TMZ.
The compound is said to include two grow houses, a greenhouse, and five dome-shaped enclosures to test top-shelf strains from GenX, Brass Knuckle and West Coast Cure.
Each dome station reportedly offers a different cannabis experience such as vaporizing, edibles, and good old fashioned smoking.

Canada plans to legalize marijuana by July 2018














The Great White North is about to become even greater next summer.

A senior government official on Monday said that Canadians should be able to legally smoke and use marijuana by July 1, 2018, reports the Associated Press.

California introduces bill to block police from assisting federal raids on legal pot


Fearing the recent anti-marijuana comments made by members of the Trump administration, a group of California lawmakers have introduced a bill to make sure state law enforcement doesn’t end up working against the will of voters by assisting feds crack down on legal cannabis, reports the Los Angeles Times.
