Watch: Jay Leno drives a sports car made out of marijuana

Jay Leno has found a high-performance sports car that smokes the competition with the help of cannabis. The comedian and automobile enthusiast invited retired Dell executive Bruce Dietzen on the latest episode of “Jay Leno’s Garage” to show off the 2017 Renew, an environmentally sustainable car that’s carbon-neutral to produce. The Renew’s body is constructed from woven cannabis hemp, a non-psychoactive crop related to pot. “It’s not made out of marijuana,” Dietzen explains in the video below. “It’s made out of cannabis hemp. You could smoke all the cannabis hemp you could possibly want and you won’t get high.” The show goes on to explain that the car’s material is lighter than fiberglass and ten times stronger than steel, which …

Watch: How Joe Buck once ate too many weed brownies

Fox Sports announcer Joe Buck will call tonight’s MLB All-Star game in Miami, although his pre-game topic of discussion was all about getting way too high from edibles. Buck joined ESPN’s “Dan Le Batard Show” on Monday to discuss the All-Star festivities, but ended up sharing a story about a 2011 trip to Cabo San Lucas that went horribly awry after eating too many pot brownies. “I go down to Cabo to a place I have down there to try to relax, and I show up thinking that I’m going to do yoga every day, I’m going to read two books, I’m not going to drink, I’m going to do nothing,” said Buck. “I’m just going to heal myself because …

Just 12 percent indicated they would like to see the federal government “arrest [and] prosecute” individuals who are using cannabis legally. Poll respondents were split on whether professional athletes and journalists should be allowed to use cannabis. Forty-six percent said athletes should be allowed to use cannabis as an alternative pain-killer to opioids and prescription drugs, while 38 percent thought athletes should be suspended if they fail a drug test for cannabis. Fifty percent of those polled supported …

Sleep disturbances predict substance use among college athletes

Preliminary results of a new study show that sleep disturbance is strongly related to the use of alcohol, tobacco, and illicit drugs among student athletes in college. Results show that student athletes with sleep difficulties were 151 percent more likely to use cigarettes, 36 percent more likely to drink alcohol, and 66 percent more likely to smoke marijuana. Sleep difficulties also predict an increased use of controlled, illegal, and banned substances. For example, student athletes with sleep difficulties were 317 percent more likely to use methamphetamine, 349 percent more likely to use cocaine, and 175 percent more likely to use steroids. “The most surprising thing was the consistency with which sleep difficulties among student athletes predict increased use of many …
