Cannabis Retail Shops Sold Over $45 Million of Weed This 4/20


Stoners across the world got together last week to celebrate the slow but steady decline of marijuana prohibition. The week of 4/20 is the biggest sales week for cannabis retailers, and as more states legalize, the revenue from cannabis sales gets larger every year. According to MJ Freeway, a company that provides seed-to-sale traceability solutions for the cannabis industry, retail cannabis sales exceeded $45 million this 4/20.

Based on sales data from the past seven years, MJ Freeway correctly predicted that this year's 4/20 sales would increase by 20% from last year.

4/20 intimidates me.
As someone more interested in the social politics and policies concerning marijuana, and less interested in taking dabs or consuming high dosage edibles — not that there’s anything wrong with that — the industry’s highest holiday can feel a bit aggressive and over the top for me.

Colorado: PTSD Legislation Advanced by House and Senate



On April 20, 2017, the State, Veterans, and Military Affairs committee in both the Colorado Senate and House officially signed off on advancing legislation that could eventually add Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a qualifying condition for Colorado’s medical marijuana program.
Passed by a 34 to 1 vote, Senate Bill 17-017 initially garnered strong support on the Senate floor during March. Approved by the House of Representatives on 4/20 after being slightly modified, SB17-017 will now head back for a final vote before the Senate.
