Watch: Snoop Dogg says he made Matthew McConaughey smoke real weed on the set of ‘The Beach Bum’

The upcoming film “The Beach Bum” promises to be the next cult classic in stoner cinema, making it only fitting that cast members Matthew McConaughey and Snoop Dogg smoked actual marijuana on the set rather than puffing on prop joints.

McConaughey and Snoop visited Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday to promote their latest movie, written and directed by Harmony Korine, in which McConaughey admits to smoking actual cannabis when he should have been smoking a movie prop.

“We do the scene and it’s about an eight-minute take, [which is] a long take if you’re passing a joint back and forth and you’re smoking hardcore to the heels of your feet,” explains McConaughey. “So the scene goes on and right after the scene I just feel like, ‘Man, I’m not sure that was a prop…’ And I look over and Snoop goes, ‘Yo, Moondog, that wasn’t prop weed, that was Snoop weed.’”
