Whether you’re a seasoned cannabis consumer or have never tried purchasing pot legally, this is likely the best weekend to take advantage of California’s recreational marijuana market.
Dispensaries throughout the state are drastically reducing prices on products that will no longer be compliant with new industry regulations set to take effect on Sunday, July 1, reports CNBC.
Retailers are offering markdowns over 50 percent off of current stock, as all inventory that doesn’t meet quality standards must be either destroyed or sold before the new safety laws and regulations take effect.
Under the Bureau of Cannabis Control’s new rules, products must pass laboratory tests for pesticides, chemicals, and any foreign material that could present a health hazard. Retail pot products must also adhere to proper labelling and packaging practices.
Several popular Bay Area dispensaries are offering considerable sales, including Harborside San Jose, Berkeley’s Patient’s Care Collective, and Grass Roots in San Francisco.
