DEA Hires Special Prosecutors to Bust Suspected Drug Offenders


It seems that U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his cronies at the DEA are fully prepared to break federal law if it means having an easier time prosecuting cases involving people who manufacture, traffic and use pharmaceutical substances for recreational purposes.

A recent report from NPR indicates the DEA is looking to hire a legion of special prosecutors to put more drug offenders in prison.

South Africa Appeals Against the High Court’s Decriminalization Verdict



South Africa’s government has announced that it will appeal the country’s recent High Court ruling which decriminalized private, small-scale cannabis cultivation and consumption on a personal level.
On March 31st, the Western Cape High Court stated that the ban on cannabis in its present form was not constitutional. As a result of that decision, the government of the country was ordered to change the narcotics act to allow for the non-public consumption and private cultivation of cannabis.

Colorado Lawmakers Are Divided Over the Legality of Smoking Marijuana on Your Own Front Porch


Despite the fact that the nature of Colorado’s marijuana legalization amendment was to regulate the herb similarly to alcohol, the states's legislative forces are not doing a great job putting this philosophy to work. When New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s final term expires next January, the state will likely elect a Democrat to replace the Republican. ER visits related to marijuana use at a Colorado hospital quadruple after legalization


Visits by teens to a Colorado children's hospital emergency department and its satellite urgent care centers increased rapidly after legalization of marijuana for commercialized medical and recreational use, according to new research being presented at the 2017 Pediatric Academic Societies Meeting in San Francisco.

The study abstract, "Impact of Marijuana Legalization in Colorado on Adolescent Emergency Visits" on Monday, May 8 at the Moscone West Convention Center in San Francisco.
