Despite a string of bad luck that has put the kibosh on marijuana legalization efforts over the past few years, advocates in Missouri are reportedly in the midst of collecting signatures in hopes of putting a brand new initiative on the ballot in 2018.

According to a report from Missourinet, Steve Leck of Springfield recently submitted a proposal to Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft’s office seeking approval to move ahead with a proposal that would legalize medical and recreational marijuana statewide.

Some California municipalities have figured out one way to run illegal medical marijuana dispensaries out of town – shut off their electricity, water and other utilities they need to survive.

UK Liberal Democratic Party Vows to Legalize Cannabis if Elected



For the first time in history, a major political party in the United Kingdom has made legalizing adult-use marijuana a campaign promise.
The Liberal Democratic Party run by MP Tim Farron revealed that they will pledge to legalize cannabis and have it sold in special retail outlets, much like the legal states in the U.S. The campaign promise will allow licensed production and sale of marijuana domestically, with anyone 18 years or older permitted to purchase.

BOSTON Vermont lawmakers on Wednesday approved a measure to legalize recreational use of marijuana, which if not vetoed by the governor would make the state the ninth to legalize the drug and the first to do so by legislation rather than ballot initiative.The U.S. state's House of Representatives, by a 79-66 vote, approved the measure, which was attached to a bill increasing penalties for the possession and sale of the opioid drug fentanyl.

Arkansas Health Department Prepares for Medical Marijuana Program Rollout

This Monday, Arkansas officials enacted emergency rules to govern and regulate medical marijuana from seed to sale. Medical marijuana is not expected to be available in Arkansas until next year, but these rules allow the state's Department of Health, Alcoholic Beverage Control Division, and Medical Marijuana Commission to begin preparations for the full rollout of the program.

The Arkansas Department of Health is testing the online registry system for medical marijuana cards this week. In order to apply, patients must have written certification from their doctor that they suffer from one of the 17 qualifying medical conditions.

More than 500 sign up to buy legal cannabis in Uruguay


More than 500 people signed up to buy state-vetted cannabis in Uruguay on the first day of registration for the first such scheme in the world, authorities said Wednesday.


The state launched the register on Tuesday to log users who will be able to buy 10 grams of the drug a week in pharmacies for recreational use from early July.
