Cannabis consumers come in many forms, so we’ve included multiple points of view in our strain reviews. Our longtime reviewers Monterey Bud and Duke London join Managing Editor Lesley Nickus and Multimedia Coordinator Allena Braithwaite. Today, they’ll be reviewing Lucid Blue by Sugar Tree Farms.
This batch of Lucid Blue was lab tested Dec. 15, 2017, and was found to be pesticide-free with a moisture content of 5.5 percent.
Monterey Bud
A Sativa-dominant strain, Lucid Blue engenders a relaxed and thought-provoking outlook on life – even on those trying days. Emphasized by her burnished trichome content and peach-colored pistils, this hybridized flower has the subtle aroma of berries and fuel. A great strain for a bad day, Lucid Blue was tight to the touch but supple when squeezed. Once broken down and rolled into my 4:20 joint, Lucid Blue released an energetic high that cultivated a never-ending harvest of imaginative ideas. Lucid Blue, as her name suggests, provides coherent clarity for our politically ambiguous times.
Duke London
This fluffy ball of seafoam fun was light in color and density, but heavy-handed in her effectiveness. Long orange pistils accentuated the bright citrus notes I detected upon opening the bag of Lucid Blue, and as I broke apart the nugget, the clementine-colored hairs clung to their dearly departed fellow buds with all their might. Once inhaled, the Sativa-dominant strain hit me in my temples almost immediately, before giving way to a full-body experience where I felt myself becoming increasingly horizontal as time went on.
Lesley Nickus
Lucid Blue is a spicy little nugget. My bud was an even green spotted with many orange pistils. The nug bounced back a little when I squeezed it between my fingers. I initially smelled the aroma of peppery herb, which gave way to a sweet diesel smell once I began to prep the flower for my grinder. The joint was potent, and since I didn’t use a crutch, the oils had saturated the paper by the time we were done. The effects are uplifting and relaxing at the same time, and they lasted more than an hour.
Allena Braithwaite
