We have been covering the topic of social cannabis consumption for quite a while at The Weed Blog.  Being based in Portland we would love to see Oregon be the first state to pioneer this area of the cannabis industry (and we are sure hopeful with Senate Bill 307 on the lines currently).

As the legions of cannabis enthusiasts enjoy our high holiday of 420 in any of the eight states that have officially legalized adult-use marijuana, the rest of the country is either hiding their celebration in a secluded spot or headed to Las Vegas where medical marijuana reciprocity rules the land.

With pot now being legal in the state of Nevada, you can say that this year’s 420 is about to be “lit”. Most dispensaries across the valley are having tent parties with giveaways and there are a couple of grand openings set for 420. There’s no better way for a stoner to celebrate 420 than to do it 420 Sin City style!Sahara Wellness is located on East Sahara in the Vegas Valley, and it is actually the very FIRST medical marijuana dispensary in Nevada to be exclusively owned and ran by women.

Although the alcohol industry has been one of the most staunch opponents against cannabis legalization, small-scale liquor distributors in Nevada have decided to try and take advantage of the impending market. Back in November, the state voted to legalize recreational marijuana via Question 2, creating an array of exciting opportunities in the region.  

Local distribution companies were major backers of this measure, donating almost $88,000 to launch a campaign that placed marijuana on the same level as alcohol. With this support, they also expected to be given first dibs on cannabis distribution licensing.

Nevada legalized marijuana last November, and the State is working hard to get their recreational/adult-use cannabis industry up and running before 2018 – with sales possible as soon as this summer if all goes well. Because of this, there are of marijuana-related bills are being introduced and working their way through Nevada’s legislature right now, including Nevada Senate Bill 344.Policy and rules regarding marijuana infused edibles has always been a little slower to fully roll out than for other sectors of the industry.  This has been a trend in all the states that have legalized cannabis so far.

Voters in Nevada legalized recreational cannabis last November with plans to start recreational sales at the beginning of 2018.

Following in the progressive footsteps of Colorado and California, the state of Nevada made the leap towards legalizing recreational cannabis last November. Since then, lawmakers have been working to implement the system before 2018, but edible manufacturers may face a major hurdle in trying to get some of their products on the market. 

Although Nevada may be home to the illustrious and tourist-driven Sin City, Sen. Patricia Farley of Las Vegas believes that the state’s accepted vices should stop at sugary weed snacks.
