Russia will allow medically prescribed marijuana, cocaine, and heroin at 2018 World Cup

Fans of the Beautiful Game will be allowed to enhance their 2018 FIFA World Cup experience with weed, coke, and heroin, if they have a valid medical reason.

Attendants of this year’s World Cup competition in Russia can legally bring marijuana, cocaine, and heroin into Russian stadiums hosting the event as long as they bring proper medical paperwork, reports Newsweek.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) based in Moscow allows certain illegal drugs to be brought into the country as long as travelers are carrying medical documentation.

FIFA rules also allow spectators to bring narcotics to live matches with supporting medical clearance, the Russian newspaper Izvestia initially reported.

The Russian 2018 World Cup Organizing Committee released a statement Tuesday confirming that travelers can bring a limited amount of cocaine, codeine, morphine, amphetamines and cannabis into certain venues as long as they bring “supporting medical documents indicating the name and quantity of goods.”

However, a smoking ban will be active in World Cup matches held in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi venues.
