Australia’s First Major Domestic Crop is Coming



The first company in Australia to receive a cannabis cultivation license has been given the official go-ahead to start growing the country’s first major domestic crop of medicine.
Cann Group Australia was granted a permit by the Office of Drug Control in February to grow medical marijuana at an undisclosed location in Melbourne. The company has been on a high for a few months since being issued the official papers, as well as listing on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) earlier this month.
The ASX listing came after Cann Group successfully raised $13.5 million in capital.

Florida Health Department Stops Sales of New Whole-Flower Cannabis Product – News

The Florida Department of Health ordered a local dispensary to stop selling a new whole-flower cannabis product intended for vaping, over concerns that users could easily smoke the pot instead. The state currently allows patients suffering from a number of qualifying medical conditions to use low-THC cannabis. Patients are allowed to vape the weed, but are prohibited from smoking it in any form.

Trulieve, one of the seven licensed marijuana vendors in the state, began selling the Entourage Multi Indica cup, a whole-flower product intended for vaping, via five dispensaries and home delivery last week.

New Medical Marijuana Regulations in Israel Allow Public Cannabis Consumption – News

Israel has been a leader in medical marijuana research for years, and now, thanks to a new set of directives released by the country’s Health Ministry, the state is setting a new standard of accommodation by allowing medical patients to legally consume cannabis in public.

According to Haaretz, the new directives went into effect immediately and now permit the use of cannabis oils and vaporizers in public spaces.

Smoking marijuana in public will remain illegal, but a rule change made in March means that even lighting up in downtown Tel Aviv will only result in a citation and a fine.

Oregon Still Hasn’t Distributed Any Tax Revenue from Recreational Cannabis Sales

As states like Arizona and Michigan gear up for a push to legalize recreational cannabis in 2018, a new report from Oregon shows that things aren’t all peachy in the years directly following legalization.
