Last year I got invited to an “Eve-of-420” party at a club in San Rafael called Terrapin Crossroads, launched by Phil Lesh of Grateful Dead fame. There was valet parking, a rare treat for my 1986 Volvo. I told the attendant, “It’s not a jalopy, it’s a classic.”
As I approached the entrance a tall, longhaired person named Tree was giving away thin squares of chocolate laced with cannabis oil. Maybe more than I wanted to ingest.

Lyft and CDOT Team Up to Offer Denver Free 420 Rides



Thanks to tourists continually removing the landmark sign, Colorado’s infamous 420 mile marker on I-70 no longer exists; in its stead is a 419.99 marker.

Sigur Rós and Lord Jones Team Up for Edible Release



Icelandic band Sigur Rós joined forces with California edible company Lord Jones to release a limited edition SIGURberry Gumdrop just in time for 4/20.
According to the websitethe collaboration was “designed to provide a calming sense of well being inspired by the music of Sigur Rós.” The band is known for its mellifluous, downtempo tunes. The cannabidiol (CBD) focused edibles mimicking “foraged” blackberry, strawberry, and blueberry flavorings are available in packs of nine in both 10 mg and 20 mg doses per gumdrop.

Canada Officially Introduces Marijuana Legalization Legislation


The Canadian government has introduced two long-expected bills that would legalize recreational marijuana across the country by next July.

“Despite decades of criminal prohibition, Canadians – including 21% of our youth and 30% of young adults – continue to use cannabis at among the highest rates in the world,” said MP and former Toronto police chief Bill Blair. “The proposed legislation, which is introduced today, seeks to legalize, strictly regulate and restrict access to cannabis.”

The responsibilities of legalization would be divided between state and local governments.
