If there’s one word that sums up the Cannabis Life Conference this past weekend, it’s normalization.
Cannabis business functions in legal-ish hotspots like Toronto are becoming a dime a dozen for our rapidly burgeoning industry. The vast majority of these events take place at venues long-accustomed to the corporate conference lifestyle, such as downtown hotels and convention centers.
The Cannabis Life Conference, however, was held at the Evergreen Brickworks.

Cannabinoid is a term that is thrown around a lot in the cannabis industry — but did you know there are many different types of cannabinoids that are found throughout Mother Nature’s complex web? 
Phytocannabinoids are the cannabinoids produced by plants.
Endocannabinoids are the cannabinoids produced within the body of humans and animals.

Contrary to Gov. Chris Christie’s anti-pot stance, New Jersey lawmakers are working to become the next state to legalize marijuana.

A bill to legalize, regulate, and tax the recreational adult use of marijuana was introduced in the state Senate on Monday, reports NJ.com.
Under the bill, adults 21 and over would be allowed to possess up to one ounce of marijuana or 16 ounces of cannabis-infused products, including edibles. A tax on marijuana sales would be established, beginning at seven percent and rising to 25 percent over the course of five years.

A new set of proposed rules to regulate California's medical marijuana market offers opportunities to both big and small businesses and investors, industry insiders say. Last week, state regulators released a set of draft regulations governing the sales, use, cultivation, testing, and distribution of medical cannabis.

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has written the proposed regulations to establish cannabis cultivation licensing and a track-and-trace system.  This was directed by the Medical Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act and the Adult Use of Marijuana Act, and is collectively referred to as CalCannabis Cultivation Licensing.Just last week, CDFA released the proposed regulations that will define the cannabis cultivation licensing process.

Released last Thursday for public scrutiny and in search of helpful suggestions, the California Department of Food and Agriculture have finally published their proposed regulations for the state’s medicinal cannabis cultivation and licensing program.
The official start of the 45-day state-mandated public comment period, which is open to California’s cultivators as well as the general public, began on April 28.

California is having a hard time figuring out regulations for their newly legal recreational cannabis industry. Governor Jerry Brown and his administration have proposed legislation that would merge the state’s two decade old medical industry with the new recreational laws, but Brown’s plan is facing criticism from opponents who say it gives too much power to big business cannabis capitalists.
