The group said in July 2018 it had more than enough signatures, but announced on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, that those numbers were inflated. The group needs at least 124,000 signatures to qualify for the ballot but had collected fewer than 80,000 before Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, the deadline to collect signatures.
