Snoop Dogg and Patrick Stewart invest millions in British marijuana company

Snoop Dogg and Patrick Stewart are now business partners in the European cannabis industry.

Snoop Dogg’s venture capital firm Casa Verde has made a $10 million investment in the UK medical cannabis research firm Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies (OCT), reports Green Rush Daily.

OCT is currently researching cannabis-derived treatments for cancer, pain management, neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s and MS, and a range of inflammatory diseases.

According to an OCT statement:

“The capital raised will be used to establish a strategic research partnership and laboratory in Europe. This will support OCT’s research into the mechanisms of cannabinoids in order to develop treatments that improve the quality of life for millions of patients around the world.”

Snoop also has an unexpected business partner in the form of actor Sir Patrick Stewart, an outspoken medical cannabis advocate. The celebrated actor will serve as OCT’s Advisory Board, with further appointments set to be announced.
