Recreational marijuana can soon be enjoyed as a fizzy carbonated beverage.
California’s Lagunitas Brewing Company has plans to release a non-alcoholic, marijuana-infused seltzer water called Hi-Fi Hops this summer.
According to Beer Street Journal, the sparkling water is flavored with a touch of lavender and grapefruit, and contains THC and CBD extracted from California-grown cannabis courtesy of partner and long-time legal cannabis company AbsoluteXtracts.
Although the beverage contains no alcohol, it holds a declaration of being considered a cannabis product. A white edition will contain 5 milligrams of THC and 5 milligrams of CBD, while a purple edition has 10 milligrams of THC.
“We believe that it’s high-time that good beer inspired a provocative yet refreshing tasting non-alcoholic alternative – bubbly, aromatic, bitter, fruity and herbaceous with no gluten, no carbohydrates and a smidge of California sun-grown cannabis in every sip,” said Lagunitas Brewmaster Jeremy Marshall in a press release.
