Black market LA pot shop busted after posing as a church

An illegal marijuana dispensary was raided by Southern California cops for turning to God instead of turning legit.

The unlicensed pot shop was busted by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputies after operating disguised as “The Citadel Church of La Puente,” reports SF Gate‘s Ted Andersen.

The self-professed church did not offer spiritual redemption, but rather approximately five pounds of flowers and a selection of concentrates and edibles with a combined estimate of up to $30,000.

Police began a three-week investigation after receiving complaints about the “church,” which operated with a La Puente city permit to repair cell phones.

Despite the police bust, medical marijuana dispensaries and delivery services are allowed in several counties if properly certified, while California’s forthcoming legal recreational market could be worth up to $5 billion.
